Latest - Christmas Mass Timings

Dear Parishioners,

The Maharashtra Government has issued a notification today morning wherein , further restrictions are issued with respect to Christmas and New Year celebrations at the Church.

Subsequently, His Eminence, Cardinal Oswald Gracias has released a video message in the evening addressed to all priests in the Archdiocese, advising all to follow the Government guidelines an revise the plans for Christmas and New Year.

The PPC Executive Committee of our Parish held an emergency meeting in view of the notification and the Cardinals message and after discussions, considering various options, has decided on the following revised program for Christmas and New Year for our Parish.

1) Tomorrow on Christmas Eve i.e. 24th December 2020 there will be live broadcast of the following Masses on the Parish YouTube Channel:

- Tamil Mass at 6.00 p.m.

- English Mass at 8.00 p.m.

The registrations for all Christmas Masses at the Church are hereby cancelled, as we have registered 140 parishioners for each of the Masses and there is no fair way to restrict the number to 50 in compliance with the Government restrictions. We also do not have the resources and place to celebrate multiple Masses simultaneously as suggested in the Cardinal's message.

2) On Christmas Day i.e. 25th December 2020, there will be live broadcast of the following Masses on the Parish YouTube Channel:

- Konkani Mass at 6.45 a.m.

- Tamil Mass at 9.00 a.m.

- English Mass at 10.30 a.m.

The Konkani Mass will be celebrated by a visiting priest and the timing of the Konkani Mass is as per his availability. Thanks for your cooperation.

3) There will be no Mass at the Church and no online broadcast of the Mass on the Parish YouTube Channel, on Saturday 26th December 2020.

4) On Sunday, 27th December 2020, the following Masses will be broadcasted online on the Parish YouTube Channel.

- Tamil Mass at 9.00 a.m.

- English Mass at 10.30 a.m.

There will be no Mass at the Church.

3) On New Years Eve i.e. 31st December 2020, there will be live broadcast of the following Thanksgiving Masses on the Parish YouTube Channel.

- Tamil Mass at 6.00 p.m.

- English Mass at 8.00 p.m.

There will be no online Mass on New Years Day i.e. 1st January 2021, which please note.

4) Mass will be celebrated in the Church tomorrow (24th December 20) morning at 6.30 a.m.

5) Till further relaxations of the restrictions imposed by the Government order, there will be no Masses in the Church on weekdays. Online broadcast on the Parish YouTube Channel, of the Masses on Wednesdays and Sundays will continue .

6) Visiting Hours at the Church will be as follows

Morning Visiting hours : 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon.

Evening Visiting hours : 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.

There will be no morning visiting hours on Mondays and Saturdays due to Mass recordings in the Church. Similarly whenever there is a nuptial Mass or administration of any sacrament the visiting hours will be restricted. The announcement of any restrictions will be made on the WhatsApp groups and on the Parish website.

Regret the last moment changes in the Christmas and New Year program, caused by the change in the Government restrictions, which in turn is due to the detection of a new variant of the virus and the changes in the infections across the globe over the last few days.

The Parish Team invites all parishioners to celebrate Christmas and New Year with joy and enthusiasm, inspite of the restrictions, and pray together by joining the live broadcasts on the Parish YouTube Channel.

Please circulate this message widely, and also ensure that the contents of this message is communicated to those parishioners who are not on WhatsApp and those who do not understand English. We depend on the communication of the PPC Members and the SCC Coordinators to reach out to each parishioner in our Parish. Thanks for your support and generosity.

Wishing all parishioners a Happy Christmas!

On behalf of the Parish Priest,

Frederick DSouza

Vice President - PPC

OLRC, Goregaon West.
